Rockford Builds Its Role as a Northern Illinois Girls Flag Football Hub

Rockford is becoming one of the most important girls flag football communities in northern Illinois. The Chicago Bears’ Monsters Flag Football clinic brought 175 girls to Rockford for training, mentorship, and exposure to the sport. The event showed how much demand exists outside the Chicago area for girls flag football opportunities. Rockford’s connection to the sport is not new. The area was involved early in Illinois girls flag football growth and had representation in the inaugural state championships at Halas Hall. With youth leagues, school programs, and college-level activity connected to the area, Rockford is helping build the next stage of girls flag football in Illinois.
